Iaulin Borda is a beautifully renovated stone cottage surrounded by large sunny terraces set up high in the tiny mountain hamlet of Ameztia, in Ituren, Navarra. We are 50 minutes north of Pamplona (famous for its fiestas of San Fermines) and 50 minutes from the Atlantic and the glamorous coastal resort of San Sebastian, renown for its tapas bars, film festivals and beaches. Its setting is idyllic, situated on a pretty farm surrounded by dramatic views of mountain crests and the white Basque villages in the valley below. This is superb walking country, far greener than central and southern Spain, with wonderfully shaded walks along the river valleys for the hotter summer months.  

The cottage would be ideal for walkers and nature enthusiasts, its location an inspiration for writers and artists or people looking for a spiritual retreat.  The cottage has a large, glass conservatory which incorporates an light and spacious open-plan dining room and living room with wood-burning stove. There is fully-equipped kitchen, a large en-suite double bedroom in the attic (once the hay loft) as well as a further bathroom downstairs. There is also the possibility of a 4 further ensuite double rooms that can be rented together with the cottage and are linked by an interior door. The heart of the house is an enormous central patio with flowers and sofas and the most incredible views of the Pyrenean valleys below us. Iaulin Borda also has WIFI connection.

We are looking to let the cottage to people genuinely interested in nature  and getting to know the local farming community of Ameztia where we live.

Rental: 450 euros a week for the use of the whole cottage and one en suite double bedroom. 140 euros per extra ensuite double room.

(Depending on our availability, the rental of this property can include a morning´s guided walk in the Pyrenees and a personal introduction to the Basque mountain culture.)
